Word not starting

Hello,

I have a new powerbook with Tiger. I installed Word X and trashed Word
2004 Test Drive. But when I click onto a word document I keep getting
error 10660 The operation could not be completed, an unexpected error
code. But I can open Word as usual then open the document.

Anyone have any ideas?

I just had this problem the other day and can't quite remember what I did
that fixed it. Either I selected a Word document, selected "Get Info" and
reselected the new version of Word under "Open With" and/or logged out and
back in.

If I can remember more clearly, I'll post again.

Use Tiger Cache Cleaner to clean out the caches (the launch services
cache is what's giving you trouble here). Oh, and make sure you *really*
trashed the test drive version: you can't just throw it in the trash,
you must use the Remove Office utility or some of its bits will be left
lying around. m.
