Word & Note Pad dissapeared !

I can't find either word or note pad any where, not in
programs, desk top, no where. I haven't uninstalled it,
it's just gone!I only noticed it when I tried to open a
document attachment from my email. I got this error; Word
has caused an error in MSWRD832.cnv. Word will now close.
If you continue to have problems restart your computer.

I did , it didn't help at all, it's still gone. Can
someone please tell me what happened, and how do I fix it?

My notepad disappeared too. I don't know when or how it disappeared
since I don't use it much. I guess you can reinstall your operating
system (Win 98, XP, etc.) but I am curious how on earth mine
disappeared with no warning. It's a computer with a single user.
Maybe unsecured Internet connection (cable modem)?

Hi Wanda. Word probably isn't "gone" because it was able to cause an error in the MSWRD832.cnv (that's the Word 97 file converter). Did you used to have a desktop shortcut to Word that is not there anymore? If so, try re-registering Word by clicking on Start | Run | Open: winword /r.
