Word now tells me insuficient disk space, I have plenty

My microsoft Word was running o.k. and suddenly now it
tells me that there is not enough memory or disk space to
complete the operation. When i start it up and that
display pops up, I try to type but nothing appears on the
blank document. Now I currently have 27 gigs free and im
running at about 640 mb. How can I solve this problem?

Word/Windows versions? Do you have servcie packs installed?
