In the notebook layout view, I am trying to use numbered lists/outlines. I want to indent lines AND have the number automatically change from "2." to "a)". I used to be able to do this with the "TAB" button on an earlier version of word but it does not work anymore. Also, even if I try to use the "demote" button on the formatting palate, nothing happens. This seems to be only a problem in the notebook layout view. Thanks for your help!
