Word occurrences

Using 2008, is there an easy way to count the number of times a specific
word (or phrase) occurs in a document? With 100,000 words, it's a bit of a
chore to do it manually with the Find command. TIA

I'm not sure I understand what the "chore" is, Clyde:) If you Find for a
word or phrase, put a check in the box to "Highlight all items found in:
Document", then click Find All it will tell you right in the dialog how many
instances were located. Are you saying that there's something preventing you
from doing so? If that's the case please provide complete descriptive
details of what's going on.

Not sure what you mean by "MS version lacks it" but the link points to a
macro and VBA is not supported in Office 2008. It may work in 2004, however.
Later versions of PC Word (at least 2003) do have the Highlight all items
feature, though.
