I have Windows ME with Word 2000.
I am having similar problems as I have seen people
describe in other posts.
Started with message saying dangerously low in resources,
which was followed by a Word crash which was then followed
by not being able to open Word at all.
I uninstalled then reinstalled, then came to this site to
read the help posts.
I used the: winword.exe /a to open word and also deleted
the Data Key.
The only thing I could not do was rename or delete the
Normal.dot, I have tried but it says it is in use and
cannot be renamed or deleted. I tried closing all programs.
I can open Word but when I try to close it I get the
following message:
This file is in use by another application
C\WINDOWS\...Templates\Normal.dot
Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!!!
