WORD opens every danged file as "READ-ONLY"

H

Harry Krause

Am running Office 2003 on VISTA. Moved my *.doc files to a new hard drive.

Now, if I open a file and change it, I can't save it because the file is
"READ-ONLY"

I have tried to change the attributes via Explorer to get read of the
read-only attribute, and this seems to work for Explorer, but if I go
back into WORD, the damned read-only is still there.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Are you sure that the Read Only attribute has been removed in Explorer? Did
you do this as Admin? Vista's protection stops ordinary users from doing any
Admin functions.
