Word options change randomly

We change the default file save location in Word2003 to a network drive.
Randomly for some users the option changes back to the default of my
documents. I have verified this by clicking Tools->options->File Locations
and instead of the document location being a network drive it is My
Documents. Can anyone assist in finding out why this is happening and finding
a resolution to this problem?

Thanks
Nick

Hi Nick,

The information is stored in the registry.

Does each user have their own profile/login?

Is the network drive location always available?

Do you run any add-ins with Word?

Thank you for your prompt reply however this is what we do. And the problem
actually occurs while the users are working in Word. They can open a document
from the correct location close that document but not word then open another
document and it has changed to my documents, they then check
tools->options->file locations and it has changed to my documents instead of
the network drive

Hi Bob,
Yes everyone has their own local profile and login
Yes the network locations is always available
Yes we run Workshare and have several macros that select various printing
options and document types.
