Word or excel function to create increasing numbers?

Is there some function in Word or Excel to create a table but in one of the cells there is a function that every time you print a copy the number in the cell increases by 1. This is for a reference form which has increasing numbers and can be printed off without having to maually change the reference number every time

Any advice much appreciated
