Word OSX for PDF Docs w/ links

R

Rob S.

I am looking to use Word in x.V to create PDF documents with embedded
web URLs and clickable table of contents in Mac OS 10.2.1. Meaning:

In the exported pdf, I can click on a link and have it open my web
browswer and take me to that URL.

I know that OSX can export documents as PDFs, but that doesn't seem to
have the linking capability.

I am aware of several PDF utilities on the PC side that allow you to
export Office files as PDFs with links, copy protection and a ton of
other features.

But I haven't found any such utility on the Mac side.

Is there any way, short of purchasing Acrobat, that I can get this
kind of capability out of Word?

Thanks in advance for any and all assistance.

Hi Rob:

I am sure you *could* find an equivalent utility on the Mac to do this, but
how much is your time worth?

Personally, I would simply buy Acrobat: you know it will work, you know it
always *will* work, and you know that if you ever have a problem with it,
Adobe will still be in business to answer the phone :)

Saving money is a great idea, but mission-critical applications is not an
*ideal* place for open-source software :)

Cheers
