Word/Outlook 2000 and sending emails from a word template

Hello,

I have a word 2000 email template that I have created, and I am
attempting to send an email from it. I have both outlook and word open,
and my address book is populating. I choose a recipient and choose
"send a copy"...and nothing happens onscreen, also nothing is ever
received by the recipient. Has anyone found a way around this?
