Word/PDF

Created a handbook in Word (Macintosh). Originally set up for
automatic page numbers, but it skipped pages (usually create in In
Design, but for those PC users...anyway). I manually set page numbers.
Saved as PDF for web site, but it automatically saves as two separate
pdf files. One is pages 1-2 and the other is page 3-41.

Any wisdom to help this frustrated Word user?

Usually splitting into two separate pdf files is caused by a section break.
Can you get rid of the section break?

Do you have a section break between pages 2 and 3 ?? It's a known
feature/bug... Sections are saved as independent PDF files. There are a
few softwares ouit there that can merge PDFs (including Acrobat - not
the reader - if you have it).

The problem you describe can be fixed by going into Preferences-View-(under
section)Nonprinting characters-Check "All", save and close preferences.
Go to your Document and look for "Section Breaks (Continuous) and delete
those. Now create the PDF file. This code, Section Breaks, is basically
there to prevent text in document that are highly segmented like vitas or
whatever from having orphan lines at the top of pages. It somehow screws up
the writing to PDF function. I discovered this recently.
