Hi Steve,

Depends on the version of WordPerfect, but generally, if you installed the
converters when you installed Word/Office, then it should be possible to
open the document in Word

Please post any further questions or followup to the newsgroups for the
benefit of others who may be interested. Unsolicited questions forwarded
directly to me will only be answered on a paid consulting basis.

Hope this helps

Is there a way to open a Word Perfect document in Microsoft Word?

It depends on which version of WordPerfect and which version of Word.

Word 97 and later comes with import filters for WordPerfect 5.x and
6.x formats. If the formatting in the WordPerfect document is fairly
complex, though, you often get better results by saving the document
from WordPerfect in Word format (any version from 6.0 onward).

If you don't know the WordPerfect version you're dealing with, and
Word won't open the documents, you can find lots of third-party
conversion utilities by searching Google.
