Word - permanently change File Type

had a user somehow permanently change her "Files of Type"
in File Open box to *.txt

Is annoyed that she has to change to *.doc when looking
for her word documents.

How can I permanently change it back to *.doc

Hi D.,

If changing it in File=>open doesn't help
see what the default save type is in
Tools=>Options=>Save and try using

Start=>Run
Winword.exe /R
as well if the two methods above do not help.
