Word printout inconsistency

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger)
Processor: Power PC

When printing a Word (2004 )document, my HP Laserjet 1200 prints the page with spaces within words and inconsistent spacing throughout the document. The document appears fine on screen and the same document can be printed from the same printer using my other Mac (which is running 10.3.9). When printed from my other computer with the older OS, the document prints out perfectly. What update, revision or cleanup do I need? Thanks in advance for any help.

Have you checked to see if there is a newer driver available for the
printer... 10.4.x & 10.3.x have differing requirements.

Make sure Office is fully updated as well - you didn't mention your specific
built level, but if you run Help> Check for Updates it will handle that.
