Word problem after a virus attack

Hi, guys. I ran a bunch of virus removal programs at the direction of
my IT guy yesterday. Everything seemed okay until I tried to save a
document in Word. When I either click "File" or use keyboard shortcut
alt+F to open the "File" menu, the menu choice "File" lights up but I
get no dropdown menu. Cannot do save, save as, page setup or any of
those functions.

I can open a document from an email, from Windows Explorer and so on.
And when I go to close the document with the upper-right-hand X, it
will ask me if I want to save changes. So the functionality still
exists; it's just impossible to get at from any of the usual methods.

From the Windows Control Panel, run the installer for Office and choose the Repair option.
