Word Problem

Whenever I attempt to use word the program crashes and
under details, the following message is
posted: :"WINWORD.EXE caused fault#c0000005 in winword.exe
@ address 017f:303e4fdd" Does anyone have any idea what
this is and how to fix it? I have already removed MS word,
ran an anti virus which came up with no viruses, re-loaded
word, and the program still crashes. Word was working fine
untill last week when I opened a word attachment; since
then I have had this problem. Any assistance would be
greatly appreciated, but please know that my computer
skills are elementary. Thanks
