Word program is gone.

I was working on a word document yesterday. When I went to open it today, it opened up in Text Edit. My Word Icon is no longer visible and the word documents on my desktop are gray without any Word icon either. I opened my Office application and when I select the Word file, it opens up Text Edit. Where did my Word program go?

It sounds as though it was deleted. The question is "how"?

What were you doing at the time?

Could you have moved or changed anything in the Microsoft Office 2004
folder?
