Word program missing, search finds winword.exe in d; drive, help!!

I tried to update word for my xp from microsoft website within the past
month or two, and the saved to desktop now try to run files say not supported
and to use the microsoft professional cd and try from there?????. What
happended and how come I can't download any word/office programs etc. from
the support site? I hate notepad, I want my Microsoft Word back!!! Why won't
this computer open or download ANY type of Word files, programs, updates,
fixes,etc. and deep search finds only a bunch of office10 and 11 in regedit;
and only winword.exe in d: from search companion using variations of word,
mword, office etc. I found all the below in regedit\find/word, but after an
exhuastive search, no program to access anywere to open or create or rename.
I usually use my computer for internet and my camera and scanning, but
recently needed word and never could find it. Just a few but the below are
repeated throughout regedit,all keys, with no variation in value, names, etc,
holding Reg_SZ as the type. The below are repeated many many time with same
values, names, CLSID under all the office10 and 11 subkey there is nothing
else-no names, values no drop down + keys, etc.Empty!!! Help me!

Word is not installed as part of Windows. It obviously isn't installed on
your computer. You need to PURCHASE a copy of Word or Office and install it.
Then the update site will work.
