Word/publisher/access -file open SLOW to browse

I just install Office Pro 2003 on a test machine which
was running Office XP Pro with no problems. Now,
whenever i try to open a file in Word, attach a file
through outlook, or browse/open in publisher or access,
it takes WAY too long to dive into the folders (10
seconds or so, any folder, no matter what's in it).

Not getting this behavior from excel 2003 or powerpoint
2003. Any ideas?

I am running Anti virus with on access scan to all
files. But, i was also running like that under office
XP.

As an update. When i disconnected my network drives, i
was able to browse/folder dive w/o any problems. Why
would having attached network drives over IPSec affect
browsing my HDD?
