word & publisher border art

I'm trying to create a custom art border for an MS Word document from my own
graphic. I searched on the web and what I found indicated that it can't be
done. Then I discovered that it can be done in MS Publisher. When I went to
put an art border on the Publisher, it allowed me to create my custom border
and add it to all the other borders available to Publisher. All of those
other borders appear to be the same as the art borders available to Word, but
I can't find my new border from Word. Can anyone tell me where and how
borders are stored for Word and Publisher? Thanks.

IIRC, the Page Bordsers are stored in a .dll of some sort but knowing any
more about it will do you no good as far as using your custom border in
Word.

The document structure, file structure & design of the programs are
radically different. Even though a comparable feature is available in one
doesn't mean that everything about it is available in the other. In this
case, the nature of Publisher allows it to support custom borders, the
design of Word does not.
