I use OSX 10.3.4 with Office 2001 (Word).
The problem is that Word quit unexpectedly when I want to open a word file
The file is probably corrupted but how resolve this problem?
Does it quit when opening any file, or only that one file?

(may have to hit refresh in Safari a few times or use a different browser).
I generally find that when Word 2001 quits in the middle of opening a file,
it doesn't actually corrupt the file. It usually re-opens for me with the
message--"corruption has been discovered; attempt recovery?" and I say NO,
then simply go to open up the file myself and it is fine.
If it quits only on trying to open one particular file, attempt to open that
file through File | Open with "Recover Text from Any File" set under Show
(remember to change it back to "all documents" later)
