Word Refreshes every 10 seconds

Hi, I hope someone can help me. I have Office 2002
installed on Windows XP Pro pc. When in Word the hour
glass appears every 10 seconds for a couple of seconds
and goes away. If the user is typing all that is typed in
while the hour glass is active, will not show up. Anyone
else have this problem??? I ran virus scan and Ad-aware
and everything is clean. Any help would be greatly
appreciated.
