word registration

I have recently re-installed my Microsoft Office 2000
Professional suite. I cannot register Microsoft Word.
All the other applications, ie Publisher, Excel etc are OK
to use, but when I try to open word it asks me to give
registration details. I enter name, initials and then it
asks for the product key on the back of the CD case. I
have entered it many, many times and it keeps telling me
it is invalid. I cannot open word and am desperate to use
it. PLEASE HELP!

Did you perhaps have Word previously installed as part of Works Suite? If
so, it will have the CD key for Works Suite rather than Office.
