I'm using Word 2003 with the latest updates. It runs great until I create an
XML tagged document with an .XSD schema. The application responds slowly
when the cursor is moved or tabbed. It takes around a minute just to add an
XML tag.
A KB article (KB 831026 "Your computer responds slowly when you work with
XML documents in Word 2003") describes similar symptoms. It's work around
is to disable spell check and grammar check. This doesn't help.
However, when I disable my network connection, this application
miraculously starts working properly. My first guess was the application is
attempting to hit the namespace URI's in the XSD. So I've edited them
several times to actual sites but application is still slow.
How can I work around this without disabling network connectivity?
