When I try to save a file with "Save As", I type (for
example) the file name "Widrick farm list" and it gets
saved as "W.doc". Every file where I use "Save as" is
saved only as a single letter.
I can rename the file through "My Documents", open it with
Word and click "Save" and the name stays as I typed it. If
I save it with "Save As", I again get the single letter
file name.
I run Word 97 on a Windows XP machine.
I've downloaded the latest upgrade to Word 97 from MS and
the problem remains.
I deleted "Normal.dot" and the problem remains.
What do I do next to fix the problem?
