Word scroll bars gone

Tony

I am running Word X on 10.2.8. with 17" iMac.
First off, for some reason, the scroll bars have
disappeared. How do I get my scroll bars back?
Second, Word was taking forever to open. I trash the
PDFMaker file in Office/Srartup/Word and all works fine.
The next time I open Word the PDFMaker file is back and it
takes minutes to open again. How do I stop the PDFMaker
file from being loaded each time I fire up Word? Trash the
Startup folder?

Hi Tony,

For the scroll bar problem, go to Preferences> View and make sure the two
scroll bar prefs are checked.

As for the PDFMaker problem, it's a known issue. In a previous thread,
someone came up with the workaround of starting Word with the Shift key
depressed in order to disable PDFMaker (Shift>Launch). Of course, that will
disable any other plug-ins as well.

If anyone has a more current fix, hopefully they'll notice this thread and
post. It is always better to post separate issues on separate threads.

Hope this helps.
