I see that there are a few messages concerning this already but I want to add
my two cents worth. The more Word tries to be smarter than the people using
it, the more it frustrates me. I've read the existing articles about this
problem but I find the "fix" unsatisfactory.
When I select a section of my document and apply formatting, I want that
formatting applied only to the selected text. I DO NOT want Word to apply
the formatting changes to the entire document and I DO NOT want Word to
change the formatting for the selected style.
And, I should not be forced to open each style used in the template and
change them. I use Word because it makes me more productive but I'm loosing
productivity when I have to spend time undoing things Word does automatically.
I guess when you're the only game in town (Microsoft) you can do as you damn
well please. But this ridiculous "feature" should be removed immediately and
a true fix made available to all users.
