Word shouldn't change words that start with a capital letter

Word should not change names of persons and locations automatically by words
that appear in the dictionary. That causes postal addresses to include
mistakes that can be anavoidable, and can cause even economic damage to
people.

Could you explain exactly what is happening please. Word does not
arbitrarily change words unless you have added them to the user's
AutoCorrect list. The dictionary does NOT change Words: it only underlines
words that it believes are incorrectly spelt. Word's AutoCorrect also has an
Exception feature too. Take a look at Tools, AutoCorrect and you will see
the standard list and the Exception list.

Postcodes should never be changed: check that the user hasn't added some
postcodes to the correction list. If this is a company wide problem, you can
push out a company standard AutoCorrect list to resolve the problems of
users adding 'wrong' corrections.

I can see that this might possibly be a result of having "Automatically use
suggestions from the spelling checker" checked in the AutoCorrect options.

Good point Suzanne: that's a setting I always avoid too!
