Word Shut Down problem

Jason

Hi,

When i use Word or outlook, i get an error message that says that Word has
encountered a problem and will shut down. After it shut down, it will try to
recover the document. This goes on and on.

I tried uninstalling office and re-installing but no use.

I also tried to look for the Word startup files as advised by other users to
either move them or change the file extensions but i cannot find any files in
Word startup folder.

Any suggestions?

Jason

HI Suzanne,

The instructions in the link you provided suggested that I either move or
rename any files in Word's startup path. I cannot find any files in both the
"real" startup path or the factory preset startup path.

What should I do next?

Regards,
Jason

Have you tried the other suggestions--renaming Normal.dot, rebuilding the
Registry data key, checking for COM add-ins, etc.?

I cannot find any file named Normal.dot
I removed a COM add-in but the problem persists.

I dont know how to rebuild registry data key...
Is it normal not to find any files in the startup path or named normal.dot?
