word shutdown when type ck

We have a fax form document that when ever someone types the letters ck (for
example the word "check") Word enounters a problem and has to shut down. In
the recovered file the word check is checyyyyy yyyyy yyyyy yyyyy yyyyy (goes
on and on).

I thought at first that it might be some conflict because we had either a
macrobutton called CheckIT or a FormCheck box. I deleted them and the
problem persists.

Actually it is the exact word CHECK that freaks out the program. Other combinations ending in ck are alright
