Word Shutting down when using 'Save As'

Hi, when my user tries to save a document using 'save as' something causes
word to spontaneously shut down, not saving any changes to the document. Can
anyone let me know why this is, and how to fix it? This is not limited to
one document, but happens periodically to lots of different ones!
