Word Shutting Down

S

Sue

I am using Microsoft Office Word 2003 with Windows XP Home Edition. Word
keeps shutting down on me. If I'm working in a document it will give me a
message asking if I want to save changes to the document. I can just click
on "cancel" and continue with the document. If I'm just reading a document
and haven't made any changes yet, it completely shuts down. My computer
doesn't shut down, only Word. I'm not having this problem with any other
software.

Thanks for any help you can provide,

Hi Sue:

You have a corrupt document there. It may be several of them.

If it is several of them, the problem may be in your Normal.dot template.

The link Bob sent you to would have told you how to replace your Normal.dot
template: do that, then tell us what changed in the way Word behaves and we
can help more.

Cheers
