Word spell check suddently stopped working

I'm using Office 2007 including Word. Have been using it for over a year.
Suddenly it no longer spell-checks. neither the red underscoring nor the
spell check document function works (its says there are no spelling
mistakes). I have changed nothing in Word and all options regarding spelling
are checked.

Any ideas please?
