They probably have "Do not check spelling or grammar" set as the default for
language in their Normal style. To fix it, bring up the Language dialog on
their machine and select the appropriate language, then click the Default...
button. This will change the language in the Normal style in their Normal
template so all subsequent documents will be okay.
To fix documents created with "Do not check spelling or grammar", either
have them select everything (Ctrl-A) and set the language, or (better) use
Tools | Templates and Add-ins and check the Automatically update document
styles box to make the new styles take effect (assuming the document is
based on the Normal style).
