word stops responding when copying and pastng from web

hi,

whenever i copy and paste some text from the web into
word xp the application stops responding and causes a
high amout of cpu usage. after a couple of minutes the
text then appears and all is fine.

can anyone tell me what causes this as copy and pasting
into apps like wordpad cause no problems.

I also notice a delay, though it's just a few seconds. It probably has to do
with Word's processor-intensive "Paste Options." If you choose Paste Special
as Unformatted Text, you will not get the delay.
