Word stops responding when using numbering on table

Hi to all!
When I remove and try to insert Numbering again in a
selection text inside the table Microsoft Word XP stops
responding and the processing level goes to 100%.
Does anyone knows how resolve this?

I have installed: Office SP2, Proofing Tools e MUI (MUI
with SP2).

Clean the document. Start with a Maggie, then try various Save As
formats if pain persists.

Well, I certainly don't know what a "Maggie" is. Nor many of the
other terms you use when posting your usually very short and
somewhat cryptic replies. And it would never occur to me to try
such a convoluted search via google to find out, either.

Since Steve is apparently adverse to typing out an
understandable reply, let's see if this helps:

This is probably caused by damage in the document. The
first thing to try is copy/paste all EXCEPT the last
paragraph mark into a new document. Hopefully, this will
leave the damaged part that manages the numbering behind.

If this doesn't help, try saving in the following file
formats, in this order (so as to lose as little
functionatliy and formatting as possible):
- Web Page
- RTF
- Word 6/95
- Word 2.0
- plain text
