word stops responding

An application I use uses active x to start up MS Word. On one particular
PC when I trigger the active x component winword.exe starts up but takes
about 5 minutes to become 'usable'. It doesn't happen on any other PC's.

Its msword 200 (SP-3).

The issues sounds like:

but that says it was fixed in SP-2. Anyway to tell for sure if thats whats
happening??

Hi Frank,

Is there a reason you do not want to install SP-2 and see if it
rectifies the problem? If the symptoms described, which from your
description it sounds the same, then all you can do is try the update.
