Word stuck in taskbar

Stan

For some reason, now when I open Word 2002 XP or a Word
document it immediately minimizes to the taskbar and will
not open in a window. When I try to maximize it, it flies
off the screen to the left to never never land. I end up
having to end the program through the task manager. I
have installed both service pack 1 and 2 for Office and
have installed the October 16, 2002 update for Word
2002. Still the problem will not go away. I tried
uninstalling and reinstalling, problem still there. I
have Norton virus protection but just to be safe, I ran a
scan of my computer. No viruses. I have also scanned for
spy software. None exists. Please help. This problem is
very frustrating since it renders Word unusable. Thanks
for any help.

Right-click on the Taskbar button and choose Move, then press the right
arrow until you can see part of the Word window. At that point you can drag
it with the mouse and drop it where you want it. Quit Word and reopen, and
the window should be where you left it.
