word suddenly quit in leopard 10.5 on my my macbook pro

i never have used word tho i have had this software for 2 years.an
email came from my daughter with 14.5 mb of attachments. the system
printed the first three and quit . could this be a memory problem? the
same error message occurs if i look at excel.

Before any suggestions can be made you need to specify your exact current
update levels of both Office & OS X. You also need to indicate exactly which
program you're using -- are you printing directly from the email program or
have you saved the attachments & opened them in Word? Are you trying to
print them all at once or one at a time?

What is the content of the error message?

Since you've not used the software since it was installed my guess is that
none of the updates have been applied. It also suggests that perhaps neither
OS X nor your printer driver have been updated either, but we won't know
what the status is until you tell us. It's pointless to troubleshoot until
that issue is resolved.

It isn't even specified in your message that you're using a Macintosh
version of Office which is the group to which you've posted. If you do
happen to be using a Windows system you'll find the Win Office groups:
