Word ~ tmp files

When you open an existing word document, Word creates in the directory where you file is located a tmp file.
For example
MyFileName.doc -- my MS Word fil
~MyFileName.tmp -- MS Word temporay, hidden, file existing while editing my Word document

When I use the Windows Explorer to look in the directory where these files are, it adds confusion to see all of the ~.tmp files. Is there any way to have these stored in another directrory

I prefer to have Windows Exporer display all my hidden files.

Is it possible to not display these Word hidden ~.tmp files in just this one directory without having to change the settings in all the other directories

No, that's not possible. One reason is that you might have several files
called MyFileName.doc on your machine, each in a different directory. If
their matching temp files were in several places, there could be
hopeless confusion. The only certainty is that a file must have a unique
name within its directory. So it makes sense for Word to store temp
files in the same directory as the document.
