Word to Powerpoint - copy - paste (2008)

Detlef

I am having a lot of trouble with copying text from Word 2008 to PPT
2008.
Sometimes it pastes correctly as text, using the font from
Masterslide, but ignoring the size setting.
Sometimes it pastes as a Word Object and it won't convert to anything.
I have not been able to find out how PPT chooses between the two.

When I use paste special, it will paste in the correct font, ignoring
size setting, but somehow switching from the default language (French)
to US English.

WQhen I do drag and drop, it ignores both, font and size settings.

It drives me mad. Any help?

Just out of curiosity, when you copy in Word
2008 and paste to PowerPoint 2008, do you see
the paste options button/icon appear next to the
text you've pasted?

If you don't see that icon, go to PowerPoint -
Preferences - Edit and add a checkmark to the
"Show Paste Options" item. Then try the operation
again.

The Paste Options button allows you to select either
the source formatting, destination theme, or to
just keep the text only. No need to go to the Paste
Special option if you just want to paste unformatted text.
This button will disappear if you move or edit the text
you pasted.

Does this work for you?
