Word toolbar in IE 6 email icon unavailable

When we open Word documents in IE 6, we have 2 problems.

1. The Standard toolbar is not displayed. We have to select it every time
we open another document. Can we have it displayed by default?

2. The "Email" icon is displayed, but is not available. Is it possible to
use the email icon on the Word toolbar when viewing documents inside IE 6?
