Word track changes/comments

Hi there,

I work on documents with heavy track changes & comments from multiple authors. The documents come from people using Word 2003 for Windows and have to come from me still compatible.

I would like to be able to see insertions/deletions in the text (because the comments become unreadable & a pain to deal with when they appear to the side) and comments to the side in comment bubbles.

The only way I have discovered to do this is using "Publishing" view. But when I select "Publishing " view, Word pops up a special dialog telling me the doc wasn't created with or configured for Publishing view and making sure I want to continue, which makes me fret that I'm messing up compatibility.

Right now I waste a bunch of time navigating the UI for these docs and wonder what a good solution is.

Thanks for any help,
nudicle

Create a new shape, then double-click it or use the Formatting Palette
to modify it according to your own preferences. When you're done,
ctrl-/right-click the shape and choose Set AutoShape Defaults from the
contextual menu.

I work in Draft View if I am using tracked changes, that shows all changes
inline.

But Word 2008 does not have much flexibility in this area, I am afraid.

You may want to experiment with making your changes with Track Changes OFF,
then using Compare Documents to compare with the original and mark up the
changes when you have finished.

It achieves the same result, and I tend to use this most often because it is
a lot easier to work with.

Hope this helps
