Word UI Font

Eddie

Is it possible to change the default UI font for Word 2007 (and all the other
applications in the suite, for that matter) to Tahoma or the system defined
font?

The default font looks very nice when ClearType is enabled, but I can't work
with ClearType because it hurts my eyes after 10 minutes. So, when CT is
turned off, default font looks very ugly and almost unusable.

Running RTM version of Office on WinXP Pro.

No, Segoe UI is the new font 2007 uses and there is no way around it.
Do you have an LCD monitor?
Maybe you need to calibrate ClearType? Search for the ClearType control
panel powertoy and see if that helps.

Yes, I'm using LCD. I tried to calibrate it once before, but without much
success. Nothing changed. I was still getting the headaches.

So, you're telling me that there's absolutely no way around it? What if I
delete Segoe UI font from my Fonts folder or something like that? What will
happen?

Thanks!

I don't know, I never tried it. I would however expect Office to
automatically reinstall it.
There really is no way. Office 2007 is built with and for Segoe UI (as
is Vista btw). If you have an LCD, you should run it with ClearType
switched on.

That's not an option, but thanks anyway.
