I have a peculiar problem. When I open a document on my harddrive with
Word 2000, all is well. But when I open a document on our fileserver,
and try to type something, it's excruciatingly slow.
I noticed in the taskmanager that Word is in this case using up all the
free CPU cycles it can get, up to 99%. And it keeps doing this
indefinitely, until I close it down. I have no idea what Word is using
all that CPU time for.
There's no such problem with Excel, when opening sheets on the fileserver.
I could repeat this behaviour on my collegues' PCs, so it's unlikely my
Word application is broken.
Does anyone have an idea what's causing this?
