Word v.s Frontpage? To build website

I purchased frontpage so that I could build a website to sell products
online. Two months later I found out that Microsoft Word software also
provide the program to design website. Now I that I found out that Word also
have the same software, I feel that I made a bad investment.

I just want to know what are the differences between the two software.

Word is not a website design program.

It may be able to write out text as html code but that is about all.

And the code it writes isn't terrific from what I have read here. (I haven't
tried it myself.)

Don't think you have made a bad investment. FP is a good website builder.

Of course (personal opinion) learning how to write HTML CSS and JS yourself
gives you an even better result. Even when you do DIY, FP is still a useful
program for publishing (uploading to your web server)

I have no interest in any program or software company. I am just an amateur.

Hi Trang,

Word is a great program for word processing..while FrontPage is a great
program for building web sites. They both have different and distinct
purposes. Even though Word has the capability of producing some HTML..it
really is not a good choice for doing that. You did not make a bad
investment by getting FrontPage.

Word, Publisher and Excel can produce html...but would you want to use them
for designing webs...uh, no.
