Hi,
I've searched & looked at a few of the VBA book recommendations, and it
really seems that coverage of this programming (sub?)language is all over the
place!
Reviews vary from 1/2 to 5 stars...
Books are mostly older and many are out of print...
Most seem to assume a heavy prior knowledge of Visual Basic...
The rest seem to be over-simplified and not much practical help...
Surprising, considering that the entire world pretty much uses Word, and the
chance to fully control this application would seem to me to be a great
opportunity...
But I digress...
What I'm LOOKING for is a good book on Word VBA for use with Word 2003 (or
prior). Currently I'm struggling with converting ASP code to HTML to RTF to
Word DOCs(!) Most of the "programming" I've done is macro recording,
followed by tweaking.
I have a decent (but not advanced) understanding of many languages -- VB,
C++, ASP, ASM. I learn best by examples, lots of them. I don't want
long-winded explanation of classes, objects, etc., just practical results.
Most of the work I'm doing is pure formatting (simple stuff!), but I'm also
looking into programmatically pulling info from an Access dB.
I've looked at the standards.com site rec'd many times, and searched Amazon
& bn.com, but haven't found the "right" book.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!
