Word viewer 2007

Is there a true Word Viewer 2007? ‎
Not the word viewer with Office 2007 compatibility pack, ‎but a real Word
Viewer 2007. ‎

There is one for Excel 2007, PowerPoint 2007 and Visio ‎‎2007 and don't need
the compatibility pack, but for ‎Word, the compatibility pack is always
essential. ‎

If none exist, is there someone who know why?

You're correct that there are specific viewer versions for PowerPoint 2007
and Visio 2007, but the Excel and Word viewers both need the Compatibility
Pack to view 2007-format documents (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/925180).

To find out why, you would have to ask the Program Managers at Microsoft how
they made their decisions. That isn't public information, so I doubt you'll
ever get a valid answer.

Files Excel 2007 open correctly without the compatibility pack.

For Word viewer 2007... nothing
