Word, Visual C++ Runtime Library, Runtime Error

Since installing ScanSoft's PDF Conferter Professional on my PC,
periodically when I close Word I receive a Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error that references winword.exe and says abnormal program
termination. I no longer have PDF Converter Professional installed, but the
error persists. Does anyone know what's causing this and how I might fix
it?

The error could be caused by some files that weren't removed when you
uninstalled the PDF Convertor or from another add-in. Here's an article on
how to troubleshoot this error and find the source:

Did you uninstall it using add/remove programs? It sounds like you have left
the PDF add-in behind. It is usually added as a template in the Word Startup
folder. Remove it.

Thank you very much for the link to the KB. Although I didn't find any
remnants of PDF Converter I was reminded that I have Adobe Acrobat installed
and that it's loading its add-in's, etc. in Word. Perhaps the Adobe
add-in's became corrupt either on their own or as a result of having had PDF
Converter installed. I temporarily removed the Adobe add-in's and will run
for a while without the add-in's to see if the problem is resolved. If it
is resolved I'll try reinstalling them and go from there.
